Aims and expectations

I have attended past CoCoon DBS simposium at TU Berlin and presenting our work as Reclaiming Heritage: The results of the Design Build Studio we did in Chanco as part of the 2010 earthquake reconstruction. Now we want to present another project based on the ACSA competition Haiti: Ideas Challenge. we won the first place on the housing category and since then we put our efforts to travel there and apply our methodology on-site. Finally we manage to find a location suitable and we stablished connections with the community and were able to travel there to work with them and (re)build 28 houses. Besides that we did capacitation workshops to teach the volunteers how to build properly and gave them the tools to establish their own business.
I expect that this DBS is suitable for presenting its academic approach to international levels. We have already appear in publications such as ed ARQ. and archdaily. And the methodology to link both theory and practice can be a good asset to the conference.
